Samrat

After I got dressed, I went downstairs and saw everyone including my mom, dad, sister and grandmother is there and waiting for me to start the ceremony. My mom is preparing my food which I am going to have today as the last meal.

Look dadabhai(brother) has came. My sister said

My mom looked at me and said

Come sit here.

Maa what are all these? that too early in the morning. I said while yawning

Maa smiled while doing something.

You are going to have your last meal now as its a ritual for the pre wedding. My grandmother said

Is it necessary thamma (grandmother). I said because I am not in a mood to wake up early in the morning.

Yes it is. My mom and grandmother said in one go

I am totally clueless as I don't have anything to say as everyone started laughing looking at my condition.

Helpless me, took my seat on the floor and maa started performing the Aarti then from the bowl, she feeds me one spoon of food as its a mixture of yogurt sweet and flattened rice. Its taste good but early in the morning we not hungry right?

Anyways, then one by one started feeding me especially my siblings seems like they are more excited than me because it's their elder brother's wedding.

Are ato khawa jay nki?(Hey, can we eat so much). I asked Shreyan as he is feeding me the food with full spoon.

Kha kha dadabhai ar parbina khete. (Have it bro after this you cannot eat anything). Shreyan said

Amon kre bolchis mne hoy jomme eo r khete parbona. ( You are saying in such a way seems like I will not be able to eat forever). I said

He laughed to what I said

In this environment where everyone is happy, I can see that my maa's face looks very disturbed due to some reason. Seems like she looks worried. I thought to ask her but I got distracted by my sleep. I was feeling so sleepy that I decided to ask her later.

After everyone is done feeding me, finally I have the food by myself and again went to my room to sleep.

After the Dodhi mongol( bengali pre wedding rituals) ceremony is done, Samrat's mother and his grandmother are talking among themselves.

Maa, I want to tell you something. Anjana said

What Anjana? Tell me now. Samrat's grandmother said

Anjana remain silent for sometime.

What is it Anjana? Anything serious? Samrat's grandmother said

Maa, actually yesterday we have consulted with an astrologer to check on his kundli before the wedding. Anjana said

Yes, so what he said? Samrat's grandmother asked

Maa, he revealed a very shocking thing about him that I really got scared maa. Even your son is trying to console me but still I cannot console myself. Anjana said

Samrat's grandmother also get scared after listening this

Tell me Anjana, what exactly he said? Samrat's grandmother said

Maa, he said that in this marriage, he is going to be cheated by his partner but he will have a second marriage and in that marriage, he will be very happy. Maa said

Samrat's grandmother remain silent after what she said.

After sometime she said

Anjana, we cannot do anything now, just we have to wait and watch what happens as its just a prediction. It may happen and may not happen.Samrat's grandmother said

But maa did you even think about my situation that how I am feeling? Do I have to think that I have to wait for my son's second marriage? and what about my son? I don't even know that how he will be able to console himself, if this really happen with him. Anjana said

I understand Anjana. I understand all your points but we can't do anything now accept to wait and watch. Samrat's grandmother said

Anjana sighted to what she said.

Maa, just tell me one thing that what can we do if this happens with him? Anjana asked

We have to think about his second marriage. For his happiness only. Samrat's grandmother said

For his happiness only, we have to decide. Samrat's grandmother said

Anjana just listened to what she said.

God please save my son from all these negativity. Anjana said while crying and praying to God.

Samrat's grandmother kept her hand on her shoulder

Don't worry Anjana. We are always with him and we will not allow him to do anything which is harmful for him. Samrat's grandmother said

At Tanushree's house

Author's POV:

The house is fully decorated with flowers as everyone is running here and there in order to get ready for the pre wedding rituals.

Tanushree

I have to get rid of this marriage at any cost. I don't want to marry Samrat because I love Shreyan. But I cannot escape as well otherwise the consequences will not be good but at the same time, I don't want to marry the man whom I don't even love as I don't want to spoil his life. I have always dreamt of marrying the love of my life but why all these are happening with me.

After sometime, my maa entered into the room

Tanu? Maa called me harshly

I looked at her and got scared

Yes maa. I said while stammering

You haven't get ready till now? Everyone is waiting for you at gaay holud ceremony. Maa said

Maa I am getting ready within five minutes Don't worry. I said and took the saree and jewellery send by my maa and was about to change but suddenly maa hold my hand and said

Wait.

I looked at her feeling extremely nervous and said

What happened maa?

Don't even think to elope from this marriage understand? Otherwise the consequences will not be good. Maa threatened me

Maaaaaa. I shouted

Shhhhh!!!!! Don't shout. Maa said

I sighed

Maa how can you do this to your own daughter? Don't you even think about her happiness? I asked

Whatever I am doing, its for your good only. Maa said

If you really think about my happiness only, then you couldn't have done this. I said and directly went to change my dress without giving her any chance to speak.
